Sigma Alpha Epsilon - NJTΓ

The New Jersey Tau Gamma Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon is based at the College of New Jersey and is one of the newest and fastest growing chapters on campus. The chapter was founded in 2004 and has continued to thrive since then. Our adherence to the True Gentleman, Sigma Alpha Epsilon's national creed, is what distinguishes the brothers of ΣAE from members of other organizations on campus.

The Tau Gamma Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon prides itself on the diversity of its membership, which is comprised of brothers from various academic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. Brothers of ΣAE are involved everywhere on campus, including various sports teams, academic and community service organizations, and on campus jobs. Our members also put in a considerable amount of community service each semester, as well as providing support for our Philanthropy, The Children's Miracle Network. The brothers of the Tau Gamma chapter are committed to bettering the community, the campus, and themselves, all while still having a good time.

Anyone interested in becoming a member of this great organization is encouraged to contact us and try to make it out to one of our Rush Events. Becoming a member of ΣAE at TCNJ is an excellent way to make friends, get involved on campus, give back to the community, and have fun during your time at TCNJ.

The True Gentleman Creed

The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety and whose self control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who is himself humbled if necessity compels him to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed follows his word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others rather than his own; and who appears well in any company, a man with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe.

- John Walter Wayland, 1899.
